goldeneye
Yellow-irised diving bird
A goldeneye is a diving duck with striking yellow eyes, found in northern regions of North America and Eurasia.
The common goldeneye and Barrow's goldeneye are prized by birdwatchers for their distinctive black-and-white plumage.
The name also belongs to a green lacewing insect with golden eyes.
We spotted a pair of goldeneyes on the lake. (Capitalized GoldenEye is the James Bond film and video game.)
