gibs
Metal fastening strips
Gibs is gaming slang for the chunks of flesh and gore that result when a character is blown apart by an explosion or powerful weapon.
The term comes from "giblets." To gib someone is to destroy them so thoroughly they fragment: I gibbed three enemies with one rocket.
The word emerged from first-person shooters in the 1990s.
