Ebenezer Howard
Planned-community visionary
Ebenezer Howard was an English urban planner who founded the garden city movement in the late 19th century.
His influential book *Tomorrow: A Peaceful Path to Real Reform* (1898) proposed self-contained communities combining the best of urban and rural life, with green belts, cooperative ownership, and balanced development.
His ideas led to the creation of Letchworth and Welwyn Garden City in England and influenced suburban planning worldwide.
