freshwater shrimp
River dwelling decapod
Freshwater shrimp are small crustaceans that live in rivers, lakes, and streams rather than oceans.
Some species are raised for food, while others—particularly colorful varieties like cherry shrimp and ghost shrimp—are popular in home aquariums, where they scavenge algae and debris: I added a few freshwater shrimp to help keep the tank clean.
