emperor scorpion
Large black arachnid
The emperor scorpion is one of the largest scorpion species, native to West African rainforests and growing up to eight inches long.
Despite its imposing size and dark coloration, it has relatively mild venom and a docile temperament, making it popular in the exotic pet trade: My daughter keeps an emperor scorpion in a terrarium in her room.
