freezeouts
Deliberate social exclusions
Freezeouts are acts of deliberate exclusion or marginalization.
In social contexts, giving someone a freezeout means treating them with coldness or ignoring them entirely: The freezeouts continued until she quit the team.
In business, a freezeout is a tactic to force minority shareholders to sell by making their position untenable.
In poker, a freezeout tournament allows no rebuys—once you lose your chips, you're out.
