freebooting
Unlicensed sea raiding
Freebooting is piracy or plundering, originally referring to pirates who roamed the seas taking whatever they could seize.
The term now commonly describes the practice of downloading online content—typically videos—and re-uploading it to another platform without permission, stripping credit and revenue from the original creator: YouTube creators complain about freebooting on Facebook.
