min-raise

Minimum bet increase

In poker, a min-raise is the smallest legal raise—typically double the previous bet or the minimum increment allowed.

It's often used strategically to build the pot cheaply or probe opponents' hands without risking much: He min-raised on the button, hoping to steal the blinds.

Some players view frequent min-raising as weak or amateurish play.
