fly-tipping
Roadside rubbish abandonment
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste in unauthorized locations—roadsides, fields, vacant lots, or other public spaces.
The term is chiefly British.
The council increased fines for fly-tipping after mattresses appeared in the nature reserve.
The practice avoids disposal fees but creates environmental hazards and cleanup costs for communities.
