fluid loss
Body water depletion
Fluid loss is the departure of liquid from a system or body.
In medicine, it refers to dehydration through sweating, bleeding, vomiting, or diarrhea: The patient showed signs of severe fluid loss.
In engineering and drilling, fluid loss describes liquid escaping into surrounding materials: They added additives to reduce fluid loss into the formation.
