overhydration
Too much water
Overhydration is the condition of having too much water in the body, which can dilute sodium levels in the blood and cause cells to swell.
It typically results from drinking excessive amounts of water, especially during intense exercise: Marathon runners risk overhydration if they drink too much during a race.
Severe cases can be dangerous, even fatal.
