floortime

Developmental play intervention

Floortime is a developmental approach for children with autism and other delays, in which an adult gets down on the floor to engage the child at their level, following the child's lead in play.

The method emphasizes emotional connection and back-and-forth interaction rather than rote skill-building: Our therapist recommended floortime to help him engage more.
