fleet commander
Warship group head
A fleet commander is the officer in charge of a naval fleet—a group of warships operating together.
The term applies to actual military positions and to fictional commanders in science fiction and strategy games: The fleet commander ordered all ships to converge on the enemy's position.
In naval hierarchy, fleet commanders typically hold admiral rank.
