flatlander
Person from flatlands
A flatlander is someone from flat terrain, typically used by mountain or hill dwellers to describe outsiders unfamiliar with elevated geography.
The term often carries mild condescension—implying the person lacks experience with slopes, altitude, or rugged country: The flatlanders from Kansas struggled on the hiking trails.
In some regions, it's simply descriptive; in others, it marks someone as an outsider who doesn't belong.
