flatcars
Sideless freight haulers
Flatcars are railroad freight cars with flat, open platforms and no sides, roof, or ends.
They transport cargo that doesn't need enclosure—lumber, steel beams, heavy machinery, shipping containers, or vehicles: A line of flatcars carried military tanks through the rail yard.
The open design allows loading from any direction.
