five card stud

Five card stud is a poker variant where each player receives one card face down and four cards face up, dealt one at a time with betting rounds between each card.

Unlike draw poker, players cannot exchange cards—what you're dealt is what you play.

The face-down card, called the hole card, creates the game's central tension, since opponents can see most of your hand but not all of it.
