firestick

Amazon TV device

A firestick is a stick used for making fire, either by friction (spinning against another piece of wood) or by carrying an ember from one place to another.

In Australian Aboriginal culture, firesticks were essential tools for land management and travel.

The term now also refers to Amazon's Fire TV Stick, a streaming media device: I watch Netflix on my firestick.
