fence line
Posts marking territory
A fence line is the boundary marked by a fence, or the path where a fence runs or would run across land.
Property disputes often center on fence lines: The surveyor confirmed the fence line matched the deed.
In rural areas, fence lines define pastures and separate neighbors' land.
The term also refers to the strip of land along either side of a fence, often left unmowed or wild.
