feed sack
Livestock meal container
A feed sack is a large bag used to store and transport animal feed—grain, pellets, or other livestock food.
Historically made of cotton or burlap, feed sacks were often repurposed for clothing and household items during hard economic times: Grandma made dresses from feed sacks during the Depression.
Modern feed sacks are typically woven plastic or paper.
