haircloth
Rough woven material
Haircloth is a stiff, coarse fabric woven from animal hair, typically horsehair or camel hair.
Historically used for upholstery, straining, and stiffening garments, it was also worn as a penitential garment against the skin: The monk wore haircloth beneath his robes as mortification of the flesh.
