eye test
Snellen chart reading
An eye test is an examination to assess vision and check for eye conditions, typically performed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
In British English, it's the standard term for what Americans usually call an eye exam.
Informally, eye test describes any situation requiring careful visual judgment: That tiny font on the menu is a real eye test.
In sports commentary, the eye test refers to subjective visual assessment of a player's ability, as opposed to statistical analysis.
