extubated
Airway tube withdrawn
Extubated means having had a breathing tube removed.
In medical settings, patients are intubated when a tube is inserted into the airway to assist breathing; extubation is the reversal of this procedure, typically when the patient can breathe independently again.
The patient was extubated this morning and is breathing on her own.
