extubate
Pull breathing tube
To extubate is to remove a tube from a body passage, especially a breathing tube from the trachea.
The term belongs to medical settings—intensive care units, operating rooms, emergency departments: The patient was stable enough to extubate.
Extubation follows intubation when a patient can breathe independently again.
