eighth notes
Quavers in music
Eighth notes are musical notes with a duration half that of a quarter note—eight of them fill a measure in common time.
Written with a filled oval head and a stem with a single flag, they're often beamed together in groups: The passage moves in rapid eighth notes.
Also called quavers in British usage.
