ecoterrorists
Green movement radicals
Ecoterrorists are people who commit acts of violence, sabotage, or intimidation in the name of environmental causes.
The term is applied to those who destroy property, spike trees to injure loggers, or bomb facilities they view as harming the environment.
The FBI classified the arson at the ski resort as the work of ecoterrorists.
The label is controversial—supporters of such activists may call them radical environmentalists instead, while opponents use ecoterrorist to delegitimize the broader environmental movement.
