ear popping
Altitude adjustment sensation
Ear popping is the sensation of pressure release in the ears, typically felt during altitude changes or when clearing blocked Eustachian tubes.
The pop occurs when air pressure equalizes on both sides of the eardrum: My ears kept popping on the descent into Denver.
Swallowing, yawning, or holding the nose and blowing can induce ear popping to relieve discomfort.
