duststorms

Arid wind chaos

Duststorms are weather events in which strong winds lift loose, dry soil into the air, reducing visibility and sometimes darkening the sky.

They occur in arid regions where drought or land degradation has left topsoil exposed: Duststorms plagued the Great Plains during the 1930s Dust Bowl.

A single event is a duststorm.
