drainage holes
Pot's bottom perforations
Drainage holes are openings that allow excess water to escape from a container or structure.
Flower pots have drainage holes to prevent root rot; shower floors have them to direct water toward drains.
The term appears most often in gardening contexts: Make sure your planter has adequate drainage holes.
