seed trays
Seedling starter containers
Seed trays are shallow containers with multiple compartments used for starting plants from seed.
Each cell holds soil and a single seed or seedling, allowing gardeners to germinate many plants in a compact space before transplanting them outdoors: I started my tomatoes in seed trays on the windowsill.
Also called seedling trays or plug trays.
