draft class
Year's new picks
A draft class is the group of players eligible for selection in a particular year's professional sports draft.
The term appears most often in American football and basketball: The 2024 draft class is considered weak at quarterback.
Analysts evaluate draft classes both prospectively and retrospectively, comparing talent pools across years.
