double-clutch
Manual transmission method
Double-clutch is a driving technique for manual transmissions where you press the clutch twice during a single gear change—once to move into neutral, then again to engage the new gear—matching engine speed between shifts.
The method reduces wear on older unsynchronized gearboxes and remains standard in heavy trucks.
In basketball, to double-clutch is to change your shot mid-air: He double-clutched to avoid the defender and still made the layup.
