dorsal root ganglion

Spinal nerve hub

A dorsal root ganglion is a cluster of nerve cell bodies located along the spinal cord, just outside the vertebral column.

These ganglia contain sensory neurons that transmit signals—pain, temperature, touch, pressure—from the body to the central nervous system.

Each spinal nerve has a dorsal root ganglion, making them relay stations for incoming sensory information.
