disulfide bridge
Protein stability bond
A disulfide bridge is a chemical bond between two sulfur atoms, typically linking amino acids within or between protein chains.
These bonds help stabilize the three-dimensional structure of proteins: The disulfide bridges in keratin give hair its strength.
Also called a disulfide bond.
