distros

Packaged operating systems

Distros is the plural of distro, an informal shortening of distribution.

The word appears most often in computing, where a distro is a particular packaged version of an operating system, especially Linux: Ubuntu and Fedora are popular Linux distros.

The term also applies to music distribution channels and, in tabletop gaming, to distribution companies that supply retailers.
