didactics
Art of instruction
Didactics is the science or art of teaching—the study of instructional methods and educational theory.
The term appears mainly in academic contexts: a professor of didactics, the didactics of language learning.
In casual use, people more often reach for the adjective didactic, which can mean instructive or, less favorably, preachy.
