dicot
Bean plant type
A dicot is a flowering plant whose seeds have two embryonic leaves (cotyledons).
Most familiar garden plants, hardwood trees, and broadleaf species are dicots: roses, oaks, beans, tomatoes.
The term contrasts with monocot, which has seeds with a single cotyledon.
Dicots typically have branching leaf veins and flower parts in multiples of four or five.
