destination sign
Bus front label
A destination sign is a display on the front, side, or rear of a public transit vehicle showing where it's headed.
Buses and trains use destination signs so passengers can identify the correct vehicle: The destination sign read "Downtown via Main Street".
Modern versions are electronic and can change between routes; older ones used printed rollsigns.
