destinies

Predetermined future outcomes

Destinies is the plural of destiny—the predetermined courses of events in people's lives, or the powers thought to control them.

The word often appears when discussing multiple people's fates together: Their destinies were intertwined from childhood.

It can also refer to different possible outcomes for a single person: She stood at the crossroads of two very different destinies.
