demilitarized
Stripped of weapons
Demilitarized describes an area from which military forces and weapons have been removed, typically by treaty or agreement.
A demilitarized zone (DMZ) serves as a buffer between hostile territories—most famously the strip between North and South Korea.
The term also applies to processes: The border region was demilitarized after the ceasefire.
