deists

Reason-based believers

Deists are people who believe in a creator god that does not intervene in human affairs—a divine architect who set the universe in motion but doesn't answer prayers or perform miracles.

The term is associated with Enlightenment-era thinkers who rejected revealed religion while maintaining belief in a rational deity: The American founders included several deists.
