deckhead
Ship's interior ceiling
The deckhead is the underside of a ship's deck, forming the ceiling of the compartment below.
What landlubbers call a ceiling, sailors call a deckhead: Mind your head on that low deckhead.
The term appears in naval architecture and maritime contexts, rarely elsewhere.
