deck of cards
Fifty-two shuffled rectangles
A deck of cards is a standard set of playing cards, typically 52 cards divided into four suits—hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades—each with thirteen ranks from ace through king.
The phrase often appears in idioms: to be a few cards short of a deck is to be mentally deficient; to play with a full deck is to have one's wits intact.
Also called a pack of cards, especially in British English.
