dechlorination

Removing pool chemical

Dechlorination is the removal of chlorine from water or other substances.

Municipal water systems add chlorine to kill bacteria, but the chemical can harm fish in aquariums and affect the taste of drinking water.

Dechlorination uses chemical agents or filtration to neutralize or remove the chlorine: Let the water sit overnight for natural dechlorination, or use a dechlorinator for immediate results.
