reverse osmosis
Pressure-driven water purification
Reverse osmosis is a water purification process that forces liquid through a semipermeable membrane, filtering out dissolved salts, contaminants, and impurities.
The process reverses natural osmosis by applying pressure to push water from a more concentrated solution to a less concentrated one.
Commonly used in desalination plants and home filtration systems: Our drinking water comes from a reverse osmosis filter.
