debtholders

Bond investors collectively

Debtholders are those who hold debt—creditors who have lent money and are owed repayment.

The term appears most often in corporate finance, where debtholders (typically bondholders) have different interests than shareholders: In bankruptcy, debtholders are paid before stockholders.
