cybernaut
Internet space traveler
A cybernaut is someone who navigates cyberspace—an explorer of the internet and virtual worlds.
The term echoes astronaut and cosmonaut, casting digital exploration as a kind of voyage.
It had currency in the 1990s when the internet felt like uncharted territory: Early cybernauts discovered communities in chat rooms and bulletin boards.
Now largely dated, replaced by more casual terms like netizen or simply user.
