Luddite

Technology's sworn enemy

A Luddite is someone who opposes new technology or is reluctant to adopt it.

The term originally referred to early 19th-century English textile workers who destroyed machinery they believed threatened their jobs.

Today it's used more broadly, often playfully, for anyone resistant to technological change: My dad's such a Luddite—he still refuses to use a smartphone.

The word can be mildly pejorative or self-deprecating depending on context.
