cultural revival
Traditions coming back
Cultural revival is the renewed interest in and restoration of traditions, practices, or art forms that had declined or been suppressed.
The term often applies to languages, indigenous customs, or folk arts being reclaimed by communities seeking to reconnect with their heritage: The Hawaiian cultural revival brought back traditional navigation and hula.
Revival efforts may be grassroots or institutionally supported.
