cryostorage
Frozen biological banking
Cryostorage is the preservation of biological materials at extremely low temperatures, typically in liquid nitrogen.
The technique keeps cells, tissues, embryos, or sperm viable for extended periods by halting biological activity: The clinic keeps embryos in cryostorage for future use.
Also called cryopreservation.
