cryobanks
Biological cold storage
Cryobanks are facilities that preserve biological materials at extremely low temperatures, typically using liquid nitrogen.
The most common cryobanks store sperm, eggs, and embryos for fertility purposes, though others specialize in cord blood, tissue samples, or genetic material from endangered species.
The couple stored embryos at the cryobank in case they wanted more children later.
Cryobanks also serve as repositories where donors can contribute reproductive cells for use by others.
